The couch…

I have dreamed about taking family pictures on a couch. Ideally, I wanted them to be my family pictures, but my husband doesn’t really see my vision. I knew though that someday everything would fall into place and I would get some family on a couch. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. While at my friend Ericas house last weekend, would you believe this ugly/beautiful perfect couch just happened to show up..talk about meant to be. When I saw that couch on the top of Ericas cousins car, I seriously think my heart skipped a beat. Erica did not seem as pleased to see the couch that seems to always make it back to her house, but I was ecstatic! The couch and the location could not have been any more perfect and Erica and I were so excited while I was taking these pictures. I should also mention that Jeff was a great sport about moving the couch for us and joining in the fun with a smile on his face. Now..if only I could have snuck the couch home with me.

Katelyn & Haley

My own little personal models. Erica and I have been friends for 20 years and it is such a joy to be able to capture her gorgeous girls. While staying with them last weekend, I had ample opportunity to get some amazing photographs of them. Every time I looked at them through my viewfinder, those big blue eyes were just sparkling back at me. I took so many pictures of them and wanted to just share a few of them here in some collages. Haley was nice enough to put on my daughters pettiskirt which looked perfect on her and I just love the images that I captured.

I think Katelyn is 8 going on 16 and Erica and Jeff are in big trouble in a few years when boys enter the picture. They have nothing to worry about now since the kissing scenes in High School Musical 3 were
“yucky”. She was standing on this swing many times while I was there, and I could not help but pick up the camera to take some pictures.

Katelyn and Haley are less than two years apart and while I am sure they have their moments, it must be great to have a sister so close in age. Their personalities are clearly very different and it is neat to watch how they interact with eachother. I got these pictures without Erica knowing and I think she is going to love them.

The F Family

After three shoots in a row with a 2 year old, this family was a nice change. Not that I don’t love a two year old, but when it comes to taking family photos, you can’t go wrong with two beautiful young ladies who are not trying to run the other way. I think these are the kinds of family photos that most people hope to be able to put on their holiday cards.

Isabella & Olivia knew how to strike a pose and I loved that I captured the sassy photo of them as well as the innocent one with the miniature horse.

I love getting some photos of mom and dad by themsleves. I think Julie & Vincent felt a little silly at first, but once we got out of the prom picture mode, I was able to capture some nice shots. I think this one has to be be my favorite.

Ethan & Georgia

Ethan & Georgia are the gorgeous children of someone else I went to high school with. Avik was the fun guy in high school and like he said, if he has grown up and become an adult, everyone must have. It was really neat to see him all grown up with a beautiful family. Ethan and Georgia are both just so striking, which is no surprise when you see their beautiful mother. Avik & Margout really wanted a picture of the kids together, but Ethan is two, and we know how that goes. We set Georgia in Ethans lap and had about a minute before he decided to leave her and continue to explore. That’s okay, I could have taken pictures of Georgia all day with the funny faces she was making.

Lucas & Lila

This is the first shoot I did when I went out to Walnut Creek last weekend. Lucas and Lila are the adorable children of someone I went to high school with. Lucas was a typical two year old who was not that interested in staying near me or my camera. Who could blame him though, we were at a ranch where there were horses and tractors for him to see. Lucky for us, Lila was not on the go yet and she made it very easy to get pictures of her beautiful face. Getting that always elusive photo of the two of them together was not easy, but it sure was fun. Lucas took everything we said quite literal and it was fun to watch his interpretation of our direction. Holly..it was so nice to meet your beautiful family and I hope you enjoy the pictures.
