My Funny Valentine…

A few weeks ago I asked Zoe if she would let me take some pictures so we could make a Valentines day card for her to give out in school. She said no and I decided I would not bug her about it. I held out a little hope that she would “let” me take some pictures of her, but tried not to push it. Last Sunday, I was out running errands and decided to get some of the boxed cards for the kids to give out.  5 minutes after I got home, without knowing what I had just bought, Zoe asked me if I would take some pictures of her..umm yes. It was a little too bright out , pretty windy, and the big game was going to start, but I was willing to take what I could get.  I gave her a lollipop to keep her happy and when she struck the pose with the lollipop in front of her lips, I knew that would be the card. I put the photo on a piece of cardstock, added a lollipop and voila..it was done.

She was nice enough though to let me play for a few more minutes and I really love some of the photos I got. When she is being her sassy self and pushing my buttons on a day to day basis, I don’t always “see” her. I really love what I can see when I look at her through my camera..those big blue eyes, the adorable freckles and the perfect lips.

And for my photographer friends. These were all shot with my 50 1.4 at 2.2..I’m thinking 2.2 is the “sweet spot”, don’t you think?! They were all processed using the new TRA presets that I have been wanting to play around with, the only thing I did to them in photoshop is add my logo. The more I can do in lightroom, the happier I am and the TRA presets make me happy.
